Chicago teenage upstarts The Orwells, with an average age of just 18, have already been heralded as “The New Strokes” by the music press. Often such claims so early on can be a curse – not for the Orwells. They are awesome.

Capturing the spirit of Iggy Pop, front man Mario Cuomo is a force of nature and the ‘Other Voices’ EP marks the start of something really REALLY exciting for this incredibly young band, in fact ‘Mallrats’ may be well be our favourite rock n roll tune in years.

After stealing the show at The Great Escape 2013 in Brighton, The Orwells were (deservedly) named NME’s lead radar tip from the Festival. Keep an eye out for another release from the band coming soon on National Anthem.
