Founded in 2012 by James Passmore, UK independent label National Anthem quickly earned a reputation for spotting breakthrough talent with early releases from Haim (Forever EP) and CHVRCHES (The Mother We Share single), before both acts appeared in the top 5 of the BBC Sound of 2013 poll. Known for its curation of 7" and 10" singles and EPs, National Anthem went on to release music from Twin Peaks, MUNA, and Bad Nerves, before partnering with Sony Music to deliver debut albums from wet and Willie J Healey. A brief hiatus followed until this year, when hearing the early demos from Still Blank convinced James that they would be the perfect band to usher in a new era for the label.
